Daily Reflection

The source of joy is always present, always available and not dependant on circumstances. There are only 2 obstacles: Ignorance that it is always available and valuing something other than peace and joy above that peace and joy because of the secret pleasure of the pay-off.

Daily Reflection

What can we actually do to be helpful to the world?

Make a gift of your life and life all of mankind by being kind, considerate, forgiving and compassionate at all times, in all places, and under all conditions, with everyone as well as yourself. This is the greatest gift anyone can give.

Meditation is an important part of my day so there will be a few posts in regards to this subject. But rather than myself do the talking I will link my favourite links to the subject.

A friend of mine John Glanvill from IFeelStuck introduced me to a very wise man called Sadhguru early this year. He has a style of meditation that I followed for 48 days. You can read more about it here Isha Kriya.

Here you will find the Instructions on how to perform Isha Kriya. The great thing about this type of meditation is that for half of the meditation time you are able to consciously think to allow yourself to keep on track.

Here is a link to a youtube clip explaining everything you need from Sadhguru himself. Isha Kriya

Meditation

Meditation is not something that the majority of people care about doing. But for me and the way my life has gone I am finding it increasingly beneficial. I don’t believe that meditation is required to overcome anxiety but its a very useful tool for giving your mind some time away from all the thinking. I currently enjoy 2*30 min session of meditation each day.

I am currently 2/3 of my way through an online course run here Vipassana. It cost me £90 for a 3 month online course and so far I am finding this a good course but its obvious that the information is available online for free. But for me and my interest in Buddhism its proving worthwhile. The site provides daily updates to help keep you focused and is a good place to start for the beginner of meditation.

I have learnt a lot so far but the more experiences mediators out there may find that not much new is on offer especially at the price.
