BWRT® Therapy

Three approaches, one goal

Which therapy is right for you?

I offer three main approaches — BWRT, Hypnotherapy, and Hypnoanalysis. They work in different ways, so some people connect more with one than another. If you’re not sure which fits, that’s exactly what your free consultation is for.

BWRT

BrainWorking Recursive Therapy® is a modern, science-based model created by UK therapist Terence Watts. It’s completely private — you never have to tell me what happened, only how you feel and how you’d rather feel instead. Many issues, including phobias, can be resolved in as little as one session.

What it treats

Wide-ranging

Commitment anxiety, phobias and fears, fear of failure, performance anxiety, self-confidence issues, fear of authority, grief, OCD, and PTSD.

In a session

What to expect

I’ll ask about your background, but never for secrets or intimate details. You just describe how you feel and how you’d like to feel instead — I do the rest.

Good to know

No hypnosis involved

BWRT doesn’t use hypnosis or anything mystical — a grounded, logical method that works before a feeling even reaches your conscious mind.

Relaxed · guided · gentle

Hypnotherapy

Anxiety often comes from a conflict within the mind — consciously you want to do something, but your subconscious believes it’s unsafe, and it usually wins. Hypnotherapy works by gently lowering the barrier between the conscious and subconscious mind, so new, more helpful beliefs can actually take hold instead of bouncing straight back.

Smoking cessation Stress management Habit control Exam & driving-test nerves Confidence issues Social phobias Weight control

You stay fully conscious and in control throughout — you can’t get “stuck,” you won’t do anything against your values, and you can’t lose your mind. All sessions are delivered face-to-face in Leighton Buzzard.

Deep-rooted issues · lasting resolution

Hypnoanalysis

Where most therapies manage symptoms, Hypnoanalysis aims to resolve the root cause — much like grief naturally resolves through emotional release over time. Anxiety often lingers because that same emotion was suppressed rather than released; Hypnoanalysis helps release it. A typical course runs 6–12 weekly sessions, each about an hour.

6–12 sessions · gold standard

Free Association

Best when you feel overwhelmed but can’t pinpoint the cause, or have several unresolved issues. Guided into a relaxed state, you explore thoughts and memories freely, viewing old experiences from an adult perspective so their emotional charge can be released or reframed.

3–8 sessions · targeted

Regression to Cause

Best for a single, specific issue — a fear of flying, driving, or enclosed spaces. You’re guided back to the original event that first linked fear to that situation. Once that root memory is resolved, the fear usually disappears, because the brain no longer sees it as dangerous.
